Saturn in Combustion   (12 Feb 2024 – 17 Mar 2024)

“Combustion” is the term used in the astronomical field to describe the phenomenon that occurs when a planet comes so near to the Sun and becomes invisible as it fades into the Sun’s brilliance during its transit; and it stops giving its results independently as it  cannot out-shine the Sun.  

 

During the time period beginning on the 12th of February 2024 and ending on the 17th of March 2024, transit Saturn, the planet of Restrictions,  Karma, Structure, Organising power, and Success, would become combust.     As a consequence,  it    can affect discipline, structure, planning and responsibility. It may result in delays, obstacles, or challenges in achieving long-term goals. The person may experience a temporary loss of focus or feel overwhelmed by duties and responsibilities.

 

Please note, Transit  Saturn would be combust  in the sign of Aquarius.  As per Astrology, there is a huge occurrence that causes Saturn to lose its strength or to get irritated, which ultimately results in turmoil and problems in our lives.  Say, the darker sides of Saturn surfaces up due to its combustion period, only apart from the time when Saturn is in exact conjunction with Sun.

 

At an  Individual level, it has been noted as the transit Saturn moves closer to Sun, more challenging and/or depressive  conditions arise which can be pinpointed depending upon   the  customised astrological chart of the individual.  The bad outcomes are associated with the house that Saturn signifies  in a customised chart. It is also possible for any planet in its aspect and union to be influenced.

 

Please note, on  29 Feb 2024 (IST)  Sun and Saturn would be in conjunction, i.e., both planets would be exactly  at the same degree in the same zodiac sign.       It is said,    at this point,  Sun drowns out its energy with its effulgence and the combusted planet has to transfer all its essence to the Sun. In fact, Sun dries up the combusted planet, removes its talents; the Sun will have the skills of this combusted planet.  Now depending upon what Sun signifies in the customised chart, the result of this configuration may be predicted.

 

The most important thing to remember is that problems only arise when people choose to ignore the advice that Saturn is trying to provide them.  Always keep in mind that Saturn is a karmic planet, and that when we explode on a personal level, the results are primarily karmic on the surface.  I believe this to be somewhat true if we do not choose to engage in self-reflection and transform, yet astrological literature state that, on an emotional level, combust Saturn may weaken self-confidence and bring on depressive symptoms.

 

In my opinion, the word “combustion” isn’t always negative; in fact, it may be a useful tool for cleansing whatever the combusted planet represents in our own astrological chart.  Just why am I making that claim?  Obviously, the Sun is the source of combustion. The Sun is the centre of our solar system, and its rays have the power to remove the darkness and illuminate our inner lives and guide us in the direction of freedom. 

 

Remember the Gayatri Mantra?   This is what we pray for in Gayatri Mantra.    The Gayatri Mantra may be considered as having divided into three parts having all the three elements that figure in the adoration of God: Praise, Meditation and Prayer, such as:

            1 – Praise   – Om Bhur Bhuvaha Svaha  

                                    (The Divine is praised) 

            2 – Meditation  – Tat Savitur Varenyam, Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi                                                                                                 

                                               (Divinity is meditated upon in reverence)

                                     (An appeal is made to the Divine to awaken and strengthen the                                              

                           intellect, the discriminating faculty of man.)

 

I think, when any planet is going through combustion  till it conjuncts Sun, it gets the opportunity to  purify and cleanse itself with the rays of the Sun. If we do not get the message clearly and fail to transform ourselves then suffering is imminent. This may be a period of insights about our commitments and how we use our valuable time and energy.

 

At individual level, I re iterate,  Saturn being the planet of Karma, supervises the consequences of our actions and controls our daily duties and routines. It is an opportune period to evaluate our daily routines and the care we provide to our bodily and spiritual well-being.  The message seems to be crystal clear and is applicable to one and all, when Saturn, the planet of Karma and Justice,  is in a state of combustion,  it  urges everyone to pay attention to his/her own Karma and act Righteously

 

At the Mundane level, Saturn’s position in Aquarius, which is the sign of invention, will assist all of us in transforming towards technology and ushering in a digital age that we have mostly read about in science fiction.

Based on what has been said, we can safely say that during the Saturn combustion period, the Sun’s energy and ability to shine are limited by Saturn, which can make a person feel alone and cut off.  Due to the fact that Saturn is the planet of karma and justice, an individual may also feel the need to terminate relationships and/or resign their profession as a result of a conflict with someone in higher authority positions.  These situations can lead towards depression.

 

On 29 Feb 2024,   Saturn and Sun would be  in exact   conjunction,  also known as ‘Cazimi’,  only at that short period of time, positive qualities of Saturn would be reflected through Sun.  Please look at your birth chart and see what does Sun, Saturn, Capricorn and Aquarius signs indicate.  That may be the area where something good or challenging may happen.
